Summery wine village by the music pavilion — Free admission
On an August weekend, Bad Mergentheim in the Main-Tauber district focuses on the wine culture of the Liebliches Taubertal: Several wineries from the region — from the Tauber in the north to Markelsheim — set up their stalls around the music pavilion in the Kurpark. You stroll between the pavilion, rose beds, and linden avenues, sample the full range of Taubertal wines, and get to know the vintners personally.
The Taubertal is the Franconian part of Baden-Württemberg: The typical Bocksbeutel wines meet dry Spätburgunder, fresh Müller-Thurgau, and sparkling wines here. At the Weindorf, you'll see this diversity side by side — from Tauberschwarz to Riesling, from dry white wines to fruity rosé wines. The exhibitors also serve Seco (regional sparkling wine), Federweißer, and Franconian tapas such as plum cake with blue plums, Käsespätzle, or farmer's bread with lard.
The Bad Mergentheim Kurensemble opens both afternoons at the music pavilion with a classical and entertaining repertoire. In the evening, the band "The Uniques" takes over with pop and rock classics, creating a lively atmosphere in the park. The pavilion serves as a natural stage, with the audience sitting in the green or strolling between the stalls with a glass in hand.
The Kurpark Bad Mergentheim is one of the largest and most beautiful spa parks in Southern Germany. With over 35 hectares, old trees, and themed garden areas, it serves as a backdrop for many cultural events — the Weindorf, Rose Festival, and summer concerts are part of the annual program. The town is located in the heart of the Main-Tauber district, on the Romantic Road between Würzburg and Rothenburg ob der Tauber, and is easily accessible by train (Würzburg–Heilbronn line).
The Weindorf is an open event with free admission. You buy wine glasses and tasting tokens directly at the stalls — usual prices: 0.1 liters of wine 2 to 4 EUR, a sparkling wine tasting 3 EUR, Seco cocktail 4 to 5 EUR. Those who want to try several varieties can rent the official Weindorf glass (deposit) and move freely from stall to stall.
The Taubertäler Weindorf 2026 will take place on Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8, in the Kurpark Bad Mergentheim. Several wineries from the Liebliches Taubertal region will be serving at open stalls around the music pavilion.
Both days will start in the afternoon with the Bad Mergentheimer Kurensemble. In the evening, the band "The Uniques" will take over with a selection of pop, rock, and soul classics.
