Open-air party in the Odertal Stadium on April 30, 2026
Oderberg is a small town in the Barnim district, directly on the Oder-Havel Canal and on the edge of the Oder meadows, just under 80 km northeast of Berlin. With just under 1,900 inhabitants, Oderberg is one of Brandenburg's smallest towns, but as a former shipping town, it has a eventful history. The Odertal Stadium on the outskirts offers an unusually large area for an open-air event — and has been home to the "Tanz in den Mai" Walpurgis Night party for several years.
Walpurgis Night, on the night before May 1st, dates back to a pagan spring custom that has merged with church and folk traditions over the centuries — traditionally with witch bonfires in the Harz Mountains, and in northern Germany with maypole raising and dancing. The Oderberg version translates the tradition into a modern format: open-air disco in the stadium, four DJs from the Berlin and Brandenburg house scene, plus a light show and pyrotechnics. Admission for everyone aged 16 and over (with parental consent).
For 2026, Martin Books, Greb Levah, Max Minimal, and Denis Rau are confirmed as DJs — a proven mix of house, tech-house, and driving electro beats. The sets run for several hours on two stages, ensuring continuous music under the open sky. Anyone looking for the atmosphere of a big open-air party without Berlin's big-city prices will find it in Oderberg — the venue is compact, the crowd manageable, and the atmosphere is good.
The Odertal Stadium is located on the southern outskirts of Oderberg on the street "An der Festung". By car, Oderberg can be reached via the A 11 (Berlin-Szczecin), exit Joachimsthal, then B 158 in about 1 hour 15 minutes from Berlin. Public transport is more difficult — the last connections to Berlin leave early; many guests come by car or arrange overnight stays in Oderberg or the neighboring town of Bad Freienwalde. Tickets are available via Eventim and Berlin.de, from €18.02 in advance, higher at the box office.
Walpurgis Night 2026 falls on a Thursday — a favorable date for a party, with a bridge day and a long weekend afterward (May 1st holiday, May 2nd/3rd Saturday/Sunday). The stadium in Oderberg opens at 6 p.m., and the sets of the four DJs will play throughout the night. Be sure to secure tickets in advance — the event may sell out.
