Open-Air at Halterner See

The Sunset Beach Festival uses an unusual backdrop for an electronic open-air: the 800-meter-long natural beach of the Haltern bathing area, directly on the Halterner Stausee. What is usually used by swimmers, pedal boaters, and sailors will become a beach dance floor on Saturday, June 27, 2026. The location on the reservoir gives the festival its own trademark — sunset atmosphere over the water, framed by the wooded shores of the northern Ruhr area.

MEDUZA and Claptone as Headliners

The two big names on the 2026 lineup: MEDUZA, the Italian producer trio, known for global house hits like „Piece of Your Heart“ and „Lose Control“; and Claptone, the „masked house magician“, one of Europe's most sought-after deep house and disco DJs. Both bring an international festival level to a comparatively local location in the western Münsterland.

Support Acts and German Scene

The rest of the lineup brings together established and emerging names from the German electronic and pop scene: YouNotUs (Berlin DJ trio, chart success), Noel Holler, The Ironix, Micky Hurts, Ely Oaks, Salvatore Mancuso, and Marlon Kindermann. The mix keeps the stage going all day — from afternoon until late evening.

VRR Combo Ticket and Shuttle

A special feature of the Sunset Beach Festival is the travel logistics: the festival ticket automatically includes the VRR combo ticket for all public transport in the Rhein-Ruhr transport association on the day of the event — public transport is thus effectively included in the ticket. Festival shuttles run from Haltern station directly to the bathing area entrance. This allows the organizer to solve one of the standard logistical weaknesses of smaller open-airs.

Weekend with Jan Delay and Jeck im Sunnesching

The Sunset Beach Festival is part of a larger weekend event series at Halterner See. On Friday, June 26, 2026, Jan Delay will perform at the bathing area, and on Sunday, June 28, 2026, the „Jeck im Sunnesching“ festival with a carnival format will take place. The weekend positions Haltern am See as a regional festival location.

Haltern am See in Münsterland

Haltern am See, a town with just under 38,000 inhabitants in the northern Recklinghausen district on the border with Münsterland, thrives on tourism around the Halterner Stausee. With its natural beach, high ropes course, and several camping and holiday facilities, it is an established recreational destination for the Ruhr area — and now also a festival location.
