Staßfurt in the Salzlandkreis (state of Saxony-Anhalt) has an identity: salt. Germany's first potash mining was developed here in the 19th century – and that shapes the city to this day. Once a year, it celebrates its big city festival, the Staßfurter Salzlandfest, traditionally on the third weekend in June and now in its 44th edition.
Here you will experience a classic city festival: three stages along the festival mile offer live music from pop, rock, Schlager, and folk music, the Benneckescher Hof serves as the main stage and festival grounds with showmen. A full-fledged festival mile stretches through the city center, lined with snack stands, arts and crafts, and sales stands from local clubs. Families will find children's carousels, bouncy castles, and a dedicated family program. Highlights include the big stage program on Saturday evening and the traditional festival parade.
Staßfurter Salzlandfest — edition 2026
The 2026 program continues the proven three-stage concept. On Friday evening, the festival mile starts with a beer tapping and a first concert on the main stage. Saturday is the busiest day: festival parade in the morning, continuous stage program until late at night. Sunday is family day with a morning pint, children's program, and winding down.
