Summer at the Vogtland Sea
The Pöhl dam is popularly known as the "Vogtland Sea" due to its size and appeal. On its banks, in the Jocketa district, lies the Pöhl open-air stage – the venue for the Strand- und Laternenfest for decades. Friday is DJ night: beats, lights, and party vibes under the open sky. Saturday brings live music to the stage, in an ambiance that perfectly captures the blend of an open-air summer festival and a beach atmosphere. A relaxation lounge, a punch bar, and a beer garden expand the gastronomic offerings.
Fireworks over the Vogtland Sea
Both festival evenings conclude with a fireworks display over the water of the dam – a visual highlight that underscores the festive character. The atmospheric lighting along the shore (hence "Laternenfest" or Lantern Festival) bridges the gap between the music evening and the pyrotechnic show.
