Techno and electronic open air in Pforzheim — Mad Max aesthetics meet pulsating beats on two stages plus afterhour
The Buchbusch Festival in Pforzheim established its place in the South German open-air scene with its first edition in 2025 — and is following up in 2026 with its second event. The concept is clear: “Mad Max style meets Techno". The festival grounds in Pforzheim-Ost will be transformed into a post-apocalyptic world with barbed wire decorations, rust-colored steel containers, scrap cars as stage elements, and fire show inserts. The organizer is Buchbusch Festival e.V.
The festival is spread across two main stages and an afterhour format:
On the Buchbusch Stage (Mainstage) in 2026: 8Kays, A.D.H.S B2B Thomas Schumacher, Bart Skils, I AM WOLV, PhutUre Traxx, Teenage Mutants, Sabee — established names of the German and European techno scene with clear mainstage power.
On the Warrior Stage: Airo Loyd, CUDI, Erwin Wagner, Keesan, Ludwig B2B Felix Dürr, MAX MARLON, TBM — a mix of up-and-coming acts and established local DJs.
The Afterhour at Ozon Pforzheim (inner-city club) extends the festival into the night — DJs: CUDI, Karla Blum, MAURICE, NEPTUNE.
Pforzheim, with almost 126,000 inhabitants, is the seventh-largest city in Baden-Württemberg and has been an important center of the jewelry industry (“Goldstadt”) for centuries. The region between Stuttgart and Karlsruhe is perfectly connected by transport — the A 8 motorway and the Stuttgart–Mannheim ICE line run north of the city. Pforzheim has an active club scene, from Ozon (inner-city, techno) to Mata Hari (pop/indie) to smaller open-air locations on the outskirts. Buchbusch uses an industrial wasteland on the eastern outskirts — hence the special Mad Max look.
Expect a young, party-loving audience from Pforzheim, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, and the entire North Baden club scene. Expect bass-heavy techno sets, an elaborate light show, food trucks with upscale street food (vegan options, pizza, burgers), bars with local spirits and craft beer. Expect an age limit of 18+ and corresponding checks.
After its successful premiere in 2025, the Buchbusch Festival is launching its second edition in 2026, consolidating its position as an important open-air event for electronic music in North Baden. The organizing association Buchbusch Festival e.V. has expanded the concept compared to 2025: an additional Warrior Stage, more food truck options, and longer playing times on the two main stages.
The 2026 lineup is clearly in the Champions League: Bart Skils (Netherlands, Drumcode/Adam Beyer spectrum), Teenage Mutants (German techno duo, Drumcode), Thomas Schumacher (Berlin techno heavyweight) and the B2B with A.D.H.S — all first-tier continental European techno acts. The Warrior Stage opens its platform to emerging DJs from the South German scene.
