23rd Edition on Alperstedter See

In 2026, Stoned from the Underground celebrates its 23rd edition on Alperstedter See – a natural bathing lake in the Sömmerda district, 15 kilometers east of Erfurt. Since 2001, SFTU has established itself as one of the most important European festivals in the stoner rock scene. Radio BOB! has been a long-term media partner.

Stoner, Doom, Sludge, Psychedelic

The musical focus is on the subgenres of slow, heavy, and psychedelic rock: Stoner Rock in the tradition of Kyuss, Doom Metal in the vein of Black Sabbath, Sludge, Psychedelic Rock, and Space Rock. The festival is small, curated, and uncompromising in its selection – no mainstream, but depth.

Three Days of Camping by the Lake

SFTU is a camping festival: The grounds are located directly on Alperstedter See, and swimming is part of the festival routine. Several stages, a small number of visitors (not a mass festival), and a family-like atmosphere between bands and audience shape the mood.

Erfurt as the Arrival City

Alperstedter See is conveniently located between Erfurt and Sömmerda. Arrive by car via the A71, or by train to Erfurt (shuttle for the last few kilometers). Its location between forests and water in the Sömmerda district makes the festival the perfect summer getaway for lovers of heavy sounds.

SFTU — edition 2026

The 23rd edition of Stoned from the Underground takes place from July 9th to 11th, 2026, on Alperstedter See. The lineup features international stars of the stoner rock, doom, and psychedelic spectrum – including Elder, Year of the Goat, Nightstalker, and Black Rainbows. Three days of camping, multiple stages, and swimming by the lake are included.

2026 Lineup – Fully Announced
