Hamburg-Winterhude in Festival Mode

When Mühlenkamp is closed, it's Stadtfest time: The Stadtfest Winterhude is one of the liveliest street festivals in Hamburg-Nord. On a September weekend, residents and visitors from all over northern Hamburg – from Eppendorf to Barmbek – flock to the streets around Gertigstraße and Körnerstraße. The entire family axis of Winterhude becomes a stage.

Three Festival Zones, One District

The festival takes place simultaneously at several locations:

• Mühlenkamp Stage: Live concerts on both festival days, from indie-pop to musicals to Latin
• Schinkelplatzfest: Children's program with bouncy castle, face painting, and stage from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Flea Market Schinkel- & Preystraße: along the entire length, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Gastronomy and Hamburg District Culture

Around Mühlenkamp and Körnerstraße, local restaurants, cafés, and ice cream parlors open their outdoor seating areas. Food stalls offer classic street festival fare, from fish rolls to vegan bowls. The Stadtfest is one of the few Hamburg street festivals that preserves the character of a true local event – owner-run shops, clubs, and initiatives shape the image, with large advertising stands remaining the exception.

Traffic and Admission

The event is established in the Hamburg-Nord district and is free for everyone. Mühlenkamp is completely closed to car traffic; the Hudtwalckerstraße subway station (U1) and the Mühlenkamp bus hub will take you directly to the event.
