Stadtfest Goldberg

Summer Festival in a Mecklenburg Small Town

Goldberg is located in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district, nestled between the Goldberger See and the flat hinterland of the Mecklenburg Lake District. With around 3,000 inhabitants, the town is manageable – but when the Stadtfest takes place, visitors come from all over southern Mecklenburg: from Lübz, Plau am See, Parchim, Crivitz, and Brüel. For three days, Goldberg is the center of the region.

The Festival Grounds and Atmosphere

The Stadtfest takes place on the Sportplatz an der Parkstraße – a large grassy area that is transformed into a festival mile for three days. The main stage is in the center, with a dance floor and seating areas in front of it. Along the edges, you'll find amusement rides (carousel, Ferris wheel, chain carousel, bumper cars, children's rides), showman stalls (shooting gallery, lottery sales, candy stall), and food stalls offering bratwurst, fries, fish rolls, crêpes, potato pancakes, ice cream, and candied almonds.

Program and Highlights

Over the three days, the Stadtfest offers a varied stage program:

• Friday: Festival opening in the late afternoon, followed by a live concert with a regional band, and disco or dance evening in the evening.
• Saturday: Main festival day with family program during the day (face painting, bouncy castle, games), live music in the afternoon, highlight in the evening with a bigger concert act.
• Sunday: Morning pint with a brass band, family afternoon, festival winding down in the late afternoon.

Significance for the Region

For Goldberg, the Stadtfest is the summer event – more important than the beach festival or Rock am Strand. Clubs from the town (fire department, sports club, shooting club, horticultural society) often run catering stalls, emphasizing the local character. The event is organized by the town of Goldberg in close cooperation with local clubs.
