The Kampfest is the Stadtfest (city festival) of Bad Doberan and is one of the most traditional Volksfeste on the Mecklenburg Baltic Sea coast. It takes place annually at the end of June on the festival meadow at the monastery grounds, behind the economic building of the former Cistercian monastery.
Programmatic Focus
For three days, the Stadtfest offers a diverse program for young and old: a concert stage with regional bands, amusement rides for children and adults, market stalls with crafts and street food, family activities, and evening dance events in the festival tent.
Local Context
Bad Doberan, as the "first German seaside resort" since 1793, has been firmly anchored in North German spa culture. The Kampfest combines this tradition with the community character of a classic Stadtfest, framed by the UNESCO-worthy brick Gothic ensemble of the Doberan Minster. In the Rostock district, it is considered an annual must-attend event for local club culture.
Kampfest — edition 2026
From June 26th to 28th, 2026, the festival meadow behind the economic building of the Bad Doberan monastery will transform into the Kampfest grounds. Regional bands, DJ sets, and dance groups will alternate on stage; carousels and amusement rides will spin on the festival grounds; snack, craft, and market stalls will entice visitors along the paths. The town of Bad Doberan is organizing the weekend together with local clubs and vendors.

- Saturday — All-day market, family program, concert evening
- Sunday — Morning pint, club activities, closing program
