Over 80 lovingly decorated wooden stalls in the market square — the Advent market in the Saarpfalz district
The St. Ingbert Christmas Market is one of the most beautiful Advent markets in southeastern Saarland. For decades, it has attracted visitors from the entire Saarpfalz district, from Saarbrücken, from neighboring Rhineland-Palatinate, and Lorraine. New since 2025: After many years in the pedestrian zone, the city has moved the market to the market square — a significant upgrade with more space, a cohesive market atmosphere, and a backdrop that finally does justice to the historic city center.
More than eighty lovingly decorated wooden stalls and stands present at the market square:
Unlike some commercialized big-city markets, St. Ingbert focuses on a well-curated stage program: open-air concerts, performances by regional choirs, and occasionally brass bands from Saarland. There is a special program for children:
Those who know St. Ingbert only as an industrial and university location underestimate the city's cultural depth. With the Albert Weisgerber Prize, the St. Ingberter Pfanne cabaret prize, the fill in Jazz Festival, and the industrial monument Alte Schmelz, the city has an astonishingly dense cultural scene. The Christmas market fits seamlessly into this — as an Advent highlight and an economic factor for the small shops in the city center.
During the day, it's worth taking a stroll through St. Ingbert's city center, visiting the Albert Weisgerber Museum (a prominent regional painter), hiking to the Höllenpforte, or exploring the neighboring nature reserve. The Saarbrücken Christmas Market (15 min by car) can also be easily combined with a visit to the St. Ingbert market.
The 2026 edition builds on the success of the first market square edition in 2025. Festively illuminated, densely packed, with a mix of regional providers and supra-regional crafts. The organizer is the city of St. Ingbert.
The complete stage program will be published in advance on st-ingbert.de.
