Trade fair around St. Ingbert's town hall — Restart 2026 with a modern concept
The Ingobertusmesse has a long tradition in St. Ingbert as a platform for the local and regional economy — named after the city patron Ingobertus, to whom the city owes its name. After a break of several years, the St. Ingbert Trade and Commerce Association (HGSI) announces a restart with a modern concept for October 2026: three days of trade fair around the town hall, in partnership with the Congress Centrum Saar (CCS). The fair will thus become one of the most important economic events in the Saarpfalz district and for the Saarland's small and medium-sized enterprises.
The fair bundles the economic profile of the region: Trade (fashion stores, bookstores, optics, jewelry, furniture), Crafts (construction, plumbing, carpentry, painting, automotive), Services (banks, insurance, IT, tax consulting, funeral services), Education (CISPA, Saarland University, IHK, Regional Association of Craftsmen), Industry (Bosch, Festo, regional SMEs), as well as Gastronomy and Tourism. The concept is classically a "showcase of the region" with a focus on direct contact with citizens.
The St. Ingbert Town Hall with its central square, the adjacent market square, and the pedestrian zone Kaiserstraße forms the main area. Stands will be set up in the town hall square, in the town hall foyer, and in specially erected exhibition tents in the city center. The partnership with the Congress Centrum Saar (Saarbrücken) enables the use of professional trade fair technology, stand construction, and logistics — the main reason why the HGSI speaks of a "restart with a modern concept.".
Accompanying the exhibition is a supporting program: lectures on economic topics (digitalization, sustainability, skilled labor security), live demonstrations of craft skills (blacksmithing, car diagnostics, hairdresser show acts), activities for families (face painting, bouncy castle, hands-on stations), culinary offerings by local restaurateurs.
St. Ingbert, with a population of just over 36,000, is a university city and home to the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security — one of the most important research institutions for cybersecurity in Europe. The city combines its industrial past (Eisenwerk Becker, Glaswerk Becker) with a strong focus on research and innovation. The Ingobertusmesse reflects this duality.
A trade fair has its own aesthetic: stand construction aluminum, well-lit display cases, lounge areas for conversations, business customers in the morning, families in the afternoon and on weekends. Anyone who wants to understand the economic inner workings of a Saarland medium-sized city will find the best showcase at the Ingobertusmesse.
The HGSI has officially confirmed the restart of the Ingobertusmesse for October 2026. Stand bookings for exhibitors are handled via the HGSI registration platform; the main contacts are Hans Joachim Schubert and Julia Kruszynski. The final detailed program with the lecture schedule, show acts, and supporting program will be published in the weeks before the event on hgsi.saarland.
Detailed 2026 program will be published by the HGSI in the weeks before the event.
