World-class contemporary jazz in the Stadthalle St. Ingbert
The fill in — International Jazz Festival Saar is one of the most important jazz festivals in the German Southwest. The main venue is the E-Werk in Saarbrücken, where the major main festival with international headliners takes place at the end of June — most recently with artists like John Scofield, Kenny Garrett, Billy Cobham, Yellowjackets, Rebekka Bakken, Grégory Privat, or the Mardi Gras band Louisiana Avenue. But fill in is not intended as an isolated event: concerts take place throughout the year in Saarland and the greater region — including in the Stadthalle St. Ingbert.
For the second time, fill in will be a guest at the Stadthalle St. Ingbert in October 2026. The evening of October 24, 2026, promises world-class contemporary jazz — the selection of artists follows the curatorial line of the main festival: international, uncompromisingly high-quality, focusing on the contemporary rather than mere nostalgia.
The Stadthalle St. Ingbert offers a concert hall where jazz can unfold its full spectrum: from intimate trios to large big bands. With modern acoustics and a manageable seating capacity, it creates an atmosphere where the audience can truly hear the musicians breathe — an experience often lost in large open-air formats.
St. Ingbert is located in the Saarpfalz district, right between Saarbrücken and Homburg in southeastern Saarland. The town on the edge of the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve is not only an industrial city with a history (iron, glass) but also an increasingly vibrant cultural hub. The fill in guest performance is one of the most important cultural highlights of the St. Ingbert autumn.
What distinguishes the fill in festival is its holistic concept: fill in Bars & Clubs as an opening format, the fill in AVENUE as a street festival in Saarbrücken, the main festival at the E-Werk, and off-site concerts like the one in St. Ingbert. This creates a dense network of jazz experiences throughout the year, appealing to both enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
On Saturday evening, October 24, 2026, the fill in festival will be a guest in St. Ingbert. The evening follows the curatorial line of the main festival in Saarbrücken: world-class contemporary jazz, international artists, uncompromising quality.
The complete lineup for the St. Ingbert evening will be announced in the summer of 2026 on fillin-festival.de.
International jazz artists are expected in the spirit of the main festival — the fill in festival is known for a spectrum ranging from contemporary jazz to world music and crossover projects. The main festival in Saarbrücken (June 25–28, 2026) will feature artists such as Yellowjackets, Rebekka Bakken, Grégory Privat, and Louisiana Avenue.
