Sportwoche SuS Hochmoor — Sporting and Social Tradition in the Münsterland

The Sportwoche at SuS Hochmoor is the annual highlight event of the SuS Hochmoor sports club in Gescher-Hochmoor. In 2026, it will run for seven days from July 27 to August 2 on the club grounds at Sportpark Weißes Venn, Landsbergstraße 45. The Sportwoche combines sports tournaments with a marquee program and family activities — a classic Westphalian sports club festival that brings the entire municipality of Gescher together with its northwestern district of Hochmoor.

2026 Program Highlights

The festival committee of SuS Hochmoor has already confirmed two key dates:

• Saturday, August 1, 2026 — Opel Twyhues Cup: Small-field tournament with team games (registration via [email protected])
• Sunday, August 2, 2026 — Family Day: Activities and offers for the whole family to round off the Sportwoche

The remaining days of the Sportwoche (Monday to Friday) usually follow the club's pattern from previous years: sports tournaments and competitions in the SuS Hochmoor disciplines (football, tennis, shooting sports, other departments), evening marquee programs with live music, DJs, and social gatherings. The complete daily program will be published by the festival committee shortly before the start on the club's website.

Sportpark Weißes Venn — Home of SuS Hochmoor

The Sportpark Weißes Venn is the heart of club life in Gescher-Hochmoor. With football pitches, a tennis facility, and a clubhouse, it provides the infrastructure that makes an entire week of sports possible. During the festival week, a beer tent will also be set up, which becomes the central stage for live music and conviviality in the evenings.

Gescher-Hochmoor — Münsterland District in the Borken District

Hochmoor is one of the districts of the town of Gescher in the Borken district, in western Münsterland (North Rhine-Westphalia). With around 17,000 inhabitants in the entire town of Gescher, Hochmoor forms a smaller district with its own identity and active club culture. The traditional summer festival of SuS Hochmoor is one of the most important district festivals of the year — an occasion that makes tradition and the sports community visible beyond weekly matches.
