Street Food Directly at Mönchengladbach Main Station

The Original Street Food Festival Mönchengladbach is the Lower Rhine edition of the nationwide street food festival format. From June 12th to 14th, 2026, international food trucks will take over Europaplatz directly in front of Mönchengladbach's main train station — a central location with excellent transport links. Three days of street food, free entry, the proven tapas concept.

The Concept

Tapas Concept at €6

The special feature of the festival is the Street Food Tapas offer: many trucks offer their specialties in small portions for €6. This allows you to try dishes from five or six different trucks instead of getting a full portion at the first stand. This tasting logic is the festival's concept.

International Variety

The exhibitor range describes the festival as "culinary delicacies from the Orient to Central America to Southeast Asia":

• Mexican: Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas
• Asian: Sushi, Pho, Pad Thai, Spring Rolls
• Mediterranean: Italian classics, Greek, Lebanese
• North African: Tagine, Couscous, Falafel
• BBQ: American barbecue, Pulled Pork, Brisket
• Vegan: Vegan versions of all classics
• Sweet: Crêpes, Waffles, Asian desserts

Atmosphere and Service

DJ Music

Throughout the festival, DJ sets provide background music — from House and Soul on Friday evening to relaxed Sunday sets.

Seating

Long rows of beer benches, high tables, lounge areas — the festival is designed for a lingering atmosphere, not just for takeaway.

Dog Policy

The festival is dog-friendly: dogs on a leash are welcome, which is not always the case at street food festivals.

Europaplatz as Festival Stage

Europaplatz is located directly in front of Mönchengladbach Main Station — an urban square with modern glass and steel architecture, well-suited for temporary festivals. Public transport connections are excellent (station right there). The Goeberstraße parking garage is a 4-minute walk away.
