Three days of city festival on the Havel riverbank in Spandau's old town – three stages, over a dozen bands, and fireworks on Saturday.
Spandau is Berlin's westernmost district and arguably the one with the strongest distinct profile: a former independent city, only incorporated into Greater Berlin in 1920, with its own old town, the Citadel, and the Havel river as a central living space. The Spandauer Havelfest utilizes this backdrop: for three days, the river promenade between the Juliusturm (fortress entrance) and the railway bridge transforms into a festival area of approximately two kilometers in length.
The festival distributes its musical offerings across three stages, which are spatially separated and thus cover the entire riverbank. Over a dozen live acts cover a wide range – cover bands, regional artists, Schlager, rock, pop. In addition, there are amusement stalls, trampolines, culinary offerings, and play opportunities for families. The 2026 program runs from Friday, June 5th to Sunday, June 7th.
The visual highlight of the festival is the fireworks display on Saturday evening, which is launched over the Havel and is clearly visible from both banks. It is a tradition that makes the weekend a fixed date in the Berlin summer calendar.
The Spandau district has around 250,000 inhabitants and is one of Berlin's more densely built-up districts, yet also one oriented towards the water. The Spandau old town – a quarter with the brick St. Nikolai Church, Berlin's oldest town hall, and the pedestrian zone Carl-Schurz-Straße – forms the center of a district that consciously cultivates its independent identity. The Havelfest is one of the central major events with which this identity is publicly celebrated.
The organizer is Partner für Spandau GmbH, a location and event company that organizes the major Spandau festival formats on behalf of the district and the business community – in addition to the Havelfest, also the Spandauer Weihnachtsmarkt, the Spandauer Oktoberfest, and other city formats.
From Friday, June 5th to Sunday, June 7th, 2026, the Spandauer Havelfest will once again open the river promenade in the old town. Three stages will be spread along Lindenufer and Sternbergpromenade; the programming extends over approximately two kilometers between the Juliusturm area and the railway bridge.
