Four days of wineries and culinary specialties from four continents in the Spandau Old Town
The Spandau Old Town is one of Berlin's best-preserved historic town centers. Around the Nikolaikirche, Reformationsplatz, and Marktplatz, there is little to remind you of the big city; winding alleys, brick facades, small courtyards – an ensemble that is more reminiscent of Hanseatic cities than the capital. It is precisely here that the Spandauer Altstadtfest with its wine summer and food festival takes place in August.
Carl-Schurz-Straße, the main axis of the old town, is the heart of the wine summer: here, stands from German wineries – primarily from Mosel, Rhein, Pfalz, Baden, Franken – line up. Tastings from a glass (Schoppen) to a bottle, along with conversations with winemakers directly at the stand. Over the years, regular guests have become established, complemented by changing newcomers.
In parallel, the Food.Festival takes place with specialty food stalls from four continents: Paella from Spain, Pulled Pork from the USA, Vietnamese summer rolls, Korean Bibimbap, Italian Cicchetti, Turkish Lahmacun. Over the four days, there are so many stalls that even repeat visits offer new discoveries.
Live music is played every evening on Reformationsplatz and Marktplatz – from cover bands and jazz combos to local acts. In the evenings, the old town becomes an open-air lounge: tables, benches, wine glasses, a relaxed atmosphere. Unlike the large Spandau Havelfest in June (Lindenufer), the Altstadtfest targets the enjoyment-oriented audience more – wine and culinary enthusiasts from Spandau, Charlottenburg, Wilmersdorf, and Potsdam.
Organizer Partner für Spandau GmbH curates the 2026 edition as a continuation of the double format established in 2023. The exact opening hours for each day and the stage program will be published in the summer of 2026.
