Kerwe 2026 in Kindsbach – traditional four-day Palatinate Kirchweih in the VG Landstuhl at the end of August.
The Kerwe Kindsbach is the traditional Kirchweih (church consecration festival) of the Palatinate village of Kindsbach in the Verbandsgemeinde Landstuhl in the Kaiserslautern district. From August 28th to 31st, 2026, the four-day Kerwe will be celebrated – a central date in the annual calendar of the West Palatinate community.
Kindsbach is located in the Verbandsgemeinde Landstuhl, near the Sickingen town and Ramstein Air Base. The community, with around 2,500 inhabitants, maintains its own village identity and fosters active club life.
The festival is jointly organized by the FV Kindsbach 1919 – the traditional local sports club – and other associations in the community. The sports club, fire department, music association, and women's group share catering, setup, and programming.
The Kindsbach Kerwe is celebrated over four days: Friday opening with keg tapping and the first dance evening, Saturday festival operations with live music, Sunday main Kerwe day with Frühschoppen, lunch, Kerwe parade in the afternoon, festival evening, Monday Family Day with Kerwe burial in the late evening.
The Kerweborsch – unmarried young men of the village – are involved in the organizational aspects of the Kerwe. The Kerweparrer (Kerwe pastor) delivers the humorous and satirical Kerwerede (Kerwe speech) on Sunday. The Kerwestrauß (Kerwe bouquet) is erected on Friday and symbolically burned on Monday evening during the Kerwe burial.
The menu features Palatinate classics: Saumagen (pig's stomach stuffed with pork, liver, and bread), Bratwurst (fried sausage), Leberknödel (liver dumplings), Schwenkbraten (pan-fried pork neck), Pommes (fries), and fried dough pastries. Draft beer and Palatinate wine accompany the festival weekend. On Sunday afternoon, the women of the parish serve coffee and homemade cakes.
The 2026 Kindsbach Kerwe continues the annual tradition. For four days, the festival shapes the festival grounds of the West Palatinate community at the end of summer.
The exact 2026 program will be published by the organizer in the summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
