Southside — Southern Germany's Hurricane

The Southside Festival was launched in 1999 as the southern German sister festival of the major northern German Hurricane Festival (Scheessel, Lower Saxony). Both festivals take place simultaneously on the third weekend in June, offer identical or largely identical line-ups, and share the big international headliners. The organizer of both festivals is FKP Scorpio Konzertproduktionen GmbH from Hamburg — one of Europe's largest concert agencies. With around 60,000 visitors per day and a line-up of approx. 150 acts, Southside is among the five largest rock-pop open-air festivals in Germany.

Take-Off GewerbePark / Neuhausen ob Eck Airfield

The venue is the Take-Off GewerbePark on the former Neuhausen ob Eck airfield (Tuttlingen district, state of Baden-Württemberg, southern Swabian Jura / Danube region). The huge commercial and event site offers space for several stages — the Green Stage and the Blue Stage as large open-air main stages, plus the Red Stage for medium acts, the White Stage for the electronic section, the Electric Wave X White Stage for more intense electronic sets, and several smaller venues. Surrounding this is the festival camping with various pitch categories — from classic festival campsites to camping upgrades with comfort extras.

Headliner Program 2026

The 2026 line-up features the biggest names in the international rock-pop scene: Twenty One Pilots (US alternative rock duo, new world tour) and Florence + The Machine (British indie-pop icon) on Sunday, Billy Talent (Canadian punk rock veterans) and Halsey (US pop star) on Friday, The Offspring (US skate punk legends) and Kraftklub (German indie rock band from Chemnitz) on Saturday. Plus around 140 other acts across all genre categories.

Warm-Up and Festival Service

The Warm-Up Day on Thursday, June 18th, 2026, features MOOP MAMA, MAJAN, MOLA, HI! SPENCER, and BRASSPALAST on a smaller stage before the actual festival kicks off. Services include camping upgrades, VIP packages, merchandise sales, a cashless payment system (festival wristband instead of cash), shuttle connections from Tuttlingen train station, and expanded sanitary and catering infrastructure. The ICE train network via Stuttgart and Munich is well-suited for rail travel.

Neuhausen ob Eck — Festival Community of the Swabian Jura

Neuhausen ob Eck is a small municipality with around 4,000 inhabitants in the Tuttlingen district (state of Baden-Württemberg, district 08327), located on the southern Swabian Jura. With its former airfield, the municipality possesses unusual festival suitability — the huge Take-Off GewerbePark has accommodated 60,000+ festival visitors year after year since 1999 and has become Southern Germany's festival address.
