ADAC Bad Sassendorf Classic — A Journey Through Time with Engines

When the peak summer weeks are over and autumn gently arrives, the spa town of Bad Sassendorf transforms into the classic car mecca of the eastern Ruhr area. The ADAC Bad Sassendorf Classic — part of the ADAC Westfalen Klassik — brings historic vehicles, their owners, and an enthusiastic audience to the spa town on September 12 and 13, 2026. A journey through time from pre-war cars to youngtimers of the 1990s.

Program — Three Pillars

1. Classic Car Tour

A classic touring rally through the foothills of the Sauerland and the Soester Börde, with integrated regularity tests. Drivers must adhere to precisely defined times — speed, knowledge of the route, and sports car flair determine the rankings. Registration opens annually in spring; places are strictly limited and sell out quickly.

2. Classic im Park

An exhibition of all historic vehicles around the Kurpark and Jahnplatz. Here, classic sedans, roadsters, convertibles, and sports cars line up — from a 1949 Oldsmobile to a 1966 Ford Mustang to a 1984 Maserati. Vintage tractors are also welcome — historic agricultural machinery will be on display at Jahnplatz.

3. Supporting Program

Live music (in past editions, the Speedos), culinary stands from seven local restaurants, and activities like "City Bet" (classic car owners meet people of the same age) create the atmosphere in the Kurpark. The Westfälische Salzwelten (Westphalian Salt Worlds) will be open on the weekend with special guided tours — a welcome addition for accompanying persons.

Bad Sassendorf — Salt Spa Town

The municipality of Bad Sassendorf is located in the Soest district (North Rhine-Westphalia). Known as a salt spa town with brine springs, it has a distinct tradition of spas and health. With its Kurpark, Salzwelten museum, and well-maintained town center, it offers the perfect ambiance for a classic car meeting — style, patina, and a sense of home come together here.

Behind the event is ADAC Westfalen e.V., which organizes the entire ADAC Westfalen Klassik series. The Bad Sassendorf Classic is an established date in the ADAC calendar with continuously growing resonance; the event is one of the highlights for the municipality of Bad Sassendorf in 2026.
