Neighborhood festival in one of Berlin's most rural districts, organized by the citizens' association MaK e.V.
Konradshöhe is one of Berlin's lesser-known districts – and that's part of its charm. Located in the Reinickendorf borough, nestled between Tegeler Forst and the Havel river, the area has barely 5,000 inhabitants and feels like a village on the outskirts of the big city. Oak forests, an old ferry connection across the Havel, lidos at Sandhäuser Strand, and the famous 'Eichenfähre' (Oak Ferry, temporarily discontinued) characterize the landscape. Anyone who gets off here momentarily forgets they are in Berlin.
'MaK – Mehr als Konradshöhe e.V.' was founded out of the civic engagement of Konradshöhe. The association connects local clubs, small businesses, churches, and schools in the district. In 2023, it was awarded the Golden Badge of Honor by the Reinickendorf district office for its commitment, and in 2024, it organized a street festival that attracted over 10,000 visitors.
For 2026, the association is changing the format: Instead of a large street festival with food stalls, there will be a focused summer festival with exhibitor offerings. Local manufacturers, craftspeople, associations, and creatives will present their work – traditional food and drink stands are no longer planned. This positions the Sommerfest more strongly as a meeting platform for the neighborhood and the surrounding area.
The Reinickendorf borough is one of Berlin's most geographically diverse: While it is more urban in the south with the former Tegel Airport and the dense housing of Märkisches Viertel, it transitions into open countryside in the north. Konradshöhe marks the northwestern end point – with connections to the Havel waterways, the neighboring Tegeler Forst, and the Spandauer Insel Eiswerder. The Sommerfest is therefore more than just a neighborhood festival: it is a commitment to this unique spatial character.
The association is currently accepting applications for exhibitor spaces. The exact event location within the Konradshöhe district and the detailed program will be communicated via the association's website and local posters.
Exhibitor applications and full program: mak-konradshoehe.de.
Bus: 222 Konradshöhe Kirche or 124 Konradshöhe. By bike via the Havel cycle path. Nearest S-Bahn connection in Heiligensee or Tegel.
Free. Exhibitor applications via the association's website, separate flea market bookings via [email protected].
Traditional catering stands are no longer part of the concept in 2026. Families should plan to bring their own picnic or lunch – there are only a few cafes and restaurants in the village center.
