Four days of family fun right on Lake Tegel — watersports, live music, and over 200 exhibitors
Every summer, the Tegeler Hafenfest transforms the Greenwichpromenade by Lake Tegel into one of Berlin's largest public festivals. For four days, tens of thousands of visitors enjoy live music across multiple stages, water sports demonstrations, arts and crafts, children's activities, and street food—all with free admission, set against a postcard-perfect backdrop of water and shoreline in the Reinickendorf district.
When the pavilions go up along the Greenwichpromenade in summer, soundchecks echo, fish sandwich stalls open for business, and dragon boats glide across Lake Tegel, one of Berlin's oldest summer traditions begins in the Tegel neighborhood (Reinickendorf district): the Tegeler Hafenfest. Organized by Jüttner Entertainment on behalf of the Reinickendorf District Office, admission is free.
Unlike purely culinary street food events or historical medieval fairs, the Tegeler Hafenfest offers the full spectrum of a classic waterside public festival:
The Tegel neighborhood offers a unique blend found nowhere else in Berlin: Lake Tegel (a large bay of the Havel river), its own harbor with industrial Borsig architecture, a former airport (now the 'TXL' urban development project), and the nearby Tegeler Fließ nature reserve. For four days every summer, the festival brings this identity to life—showcasing Berlin as a vibrant lakeside city.
Families with children, local residents from Tegel and Reinickendorf, and visitors from across the city come for the mix of water, music, and relaxed festival vibes. If you want to experience a Berlin summer festival away from the city center, this is the place to be.
The Reinickendorf District Office and organizer Jüttner Entertainment invite you to the traditional Tegeler Hafenfest from July 16 to 19, 2026. The Greenwichpromenade transforms for four days into a waterside folk festival — with live music on several stages, over 200 exhibitors from arts and crafts, gastronomy, and regional products, watersports demonstrations on Lake Tegel, and an extensive children's program with pony rides, bouncy castles, and face painting. Free admission.
