Four days of family fun right on Lake Tegel — watersports, live music, and over 200 exhibitors
When the pavilions are set up on the Greenwichpromenade in summer, the stages are tested, the fish roll stands open, and dragon boats glide onto Lake Tegel, one of Berlin's oldest summer festivals begins in the Tegel district (Reinickendorf borough): the Tegeler Hafenfest. The organizer is Jüttner Entertainment on behalf of the Reinickendorf District Office — admission is free.
Unlike purely gastronomic street food events or historically themed medieval festivals, the Tegeler Hafenfest offers the full spectrum of a classic waterside folk festival:
The Tegel district offers a unique mix in Berlin: a large inland lake (Lake Tegel), its own harbor with Borsig industrial architecture, a former airport (now the "TXL" urban development project), and the nearby Tegeler Fließ nature reserve. The Hafenfest brings this identity to life for four days every summer — as metropolitan Berlin by the lake.
Families with children, older Berliners, residents of Tegel and Reinickendorf, as well as visitors from other parts of the city come for the mix of water, music, and uncomplicated folk festival atmosphere. If you want to experience a Berlin summer festival beyond the city center, this is the place to be.
The Reinickendorf District Office and organizer Jüttner Entertainment invite you to the traditional Tegeler Hafenfest from July 16 to 19, 2026. The Greenwichpromenade transforms for four days into a waterside folk festival — with live music on several stages, over 200 exhibitors from arts and crafts, gastronomy, and regional products, watersports demonstrations on Lake Tegel, and an extensive children's program with pony rides, bouncy castles, and face painting. Free admission.
