Four summer concerts with the Bielefeld Philharmonic Orchestra and Wincent Weiss, Jan Delay, Max Herre from August 17–21, 2026 in Bürgerpark
vielHarmonie — Summer Concerts in Bürgerpark is Bielefeld's most important open-air concert series of the summer. What began as an experimental format in 2023 has developed into an established institution over four years. In 2026, the 4th edition will feature particularly prominent acts — Wincent Weiss, Jan Delay, and Max Herre will share the stage with the Bielefeld Philharmonic Orchestra.
Five days of concerts. The exact program for each day will be communicated on the festival website and at BUO Bielefeld (Bielefeld Philharmonic Orchestra). So far, it is known:
Bürgerpark Bielefeld is located in the Sieker district, east of the city center. An open park area with meadows, trees, and occasional historical buildings — ideal for open-air concerts with a picnic atmosphere. You bring a blanket, a basket with snacks, a bottle of wine — and enjoy the concert on the lawn in front of the stage. An urban open-air experience that pleasantly stands out from the mass crowds of traditional festivals.
The Bielefeld Philharmonic Orchestra is Bielefeld's city orchestra and has been rooted in the city since 1901. With their 80s Night format and the John Williams Film Music Night, they break out of the classical concert canon and bring classical music to a broader audience. This bridge between pop and classical music makes vielHarmonie special.
Wincent Weiss is one of the most successful German-speaking pop stars of his generation — hits like “Feuerwerk,” “Musik sein,” or “An Wunder” have achieved multi-platinum status. Jan Delay has been a staple of German pop and hip-hop music since the 1990s (member of Beginner, solo soul star with “Klar,” “Disko No. 1”). Max Herre was a co-founder of Freundeskreis and is now one of the most eloquent voices in German-speaking singer-songwriter culture. This lineup combination is a statement: vielHarmonie performs at the highest level.
With over 340,000 inhabitants, Bielefeld is the largest city in Ostwestfalen-Lippe and, simultaneously (in the humorous-mystical tradition), the “city that doesn't exist.” In reality, Bielefeld is a vibrant university city with a rich cultural offering — theaters, Sparrenburg Castle, museums, and an active cultural life. Bürgerpark in the Sieker district is a local recreation area and a fitting venue for an open-air festival of this format.
The 4th vielHarmonie 2026 continues Bielefeld Marketing's ambitious open-air concept. Five summer evenings on the stage in Bielefeld's Bürgerpark, featuring a high-caliber mix of pop and classical acts. The picnic atmosphere — blankets on the lawn, personal snacks, wine from the park's bar — makes the concert experience more individual and relaxed than at large traditional festivals. Dates are known to sell out quickly.
