The Rave Mecca of Ostwestfalen

For years, Bielefeld's Lokschuppen on Stadtheider Straße has been a hotspot for Ostwestfalen's electronic music scene. The industrial ambiance of a former railway shed meets modern sound technology and three separately playable areas. The Outside World Festival perfectly utilizes this architecture: one floor for Rave Classics, one for Techno Classics, one for House Classics — three sound worlds under one roof.

Lineup 2026 — Legends of Electronic Music

The focus is on DJs who have shaped the German and international rave scene of the past three decades. DJ Rush from the USA — the ultimate hard techno icon. Westbam, the Berlin pioneer of the Love Parade era. Kai Tracid with his trance anthems from the late 90s. DJ Quicksilver, responsible for "Bellissima" and "Free". Brooklyn Bounce DJ and Melanie Di Tria complete the rave and techno program. On the House floor, Boogie Pimps ("Somebody to Love") and Danny Disco take over — real house classics instead of the usual tech-house monotony.

Three Areas, Three Worlds

Area 1 — Rave Classics: 90s anthems, trance classics, hands-up. Area 2 — Techno Classics: Underground techno, hard techno, darker styles. Area 3 — House Classics: real house, disco house, soulful vibes. Admission is valid for all three floors — switching between them is allowed depending on your mood.

Lokschuppen Bielefeld

Lokschuppen is Bielefeld's most important club for electronic music — a former railway roundhouse that now hosts large events with several thousand visitors. Cashless payment, well-maintained bars, excellent sound systems, and a competent crew have ensured a reliable standard for years.

Bielefeld in Ostwestfalen-Lippe

Bielefeld has around 340,000 inhabitants and is the economic and cultural capital of Ostwestfalen-Lippe in the Detmold administrative district. The city has a significant student scene (Bielefeld University) and a corresponding club culture. Outside World is one of the region's largest genre festivals — rave fans from Münster, Hanover, Paderborn, and the Ruhr area often make the trip.
