Village Festival on the Edge of the Schorfheide

Hohenfinow is a small municipality in the Amt Britz-Chorin-Oderberg, nestled in the hilly landscape between Eberswalde and the Oderbruch in the Barnim district. The summer festival on the village green is one of the village's annual highlights: a cross-generational family festival, co-organized by the municipality, local clubs, the fire department, and schools.

Children's Festival with Carousels and Games

The children's program is at the heart of the festival: carousels, bouncy castles, games, painting and craft activities, a small stage program. This makes the festival a fixed summer date, especially for families. The municipality of Hohenfinow consciously sees the day as a children's festival with an extension to a village festival.

Club Life and Catering

Local clubs, especially the volunteer fire department, the shooting club, and the sports association, set up catering stalls. Sausages sizzle on the grill, homemade cakes are available at the women's clubs' cake stand, along with beer, soft drinks, and coffee. Visitors to the festival have the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve right on their doorstep – one of Germany's largest UNESCO Biosphere Reserves, featuring beech forests, lake chains, moors, and rich flora and fauna. The summer festival is thus also an occasion to discover rural Brandenburg beyond the major tourist hotspots.
