About Schützenfest Garßen

The Schützenfest of the Schützenverein Garßen e.V. from 1891 is one of the most traditional marksmen's events on the eastern outskirts of Celle. For four days, marksmen, parade participants and families shape the festival in Garßen. A parade with the Fanfarenkorps Herzogstadt Celle and the Garßen and Hambühren marching bands, the King's Shoot, a festival tent with catering, a morning pint and a dedicated children's festival on Saturday afternoon from 4:30 PM make the 2026 Schützenfest (June 4th to 7th) a fixed family date. Admission to the festival grounds is free.

Schützenfest Garßen — edition 2026

Das Schützenfest Garßen 2026 läuft von Donnerstag, 4. Juni, bis Sonntag, 7. Juni. Vier Tage lang gestaltet der Schützenverein Garßen e.V. von 1891 ein klassisches Schützenfest mit Festzug, Königsschießen, Festzelt und einem eigenen Kinderfest am Samstag ab 16:30 Uhr. Den Festzug begleiten das Fanfarenkorps Herzogstadt Celle sowie der Garßener und Hambührener Spielmannszug. Eintritt zum Festgelände frei.

Die Festwoche 2026 läuft von Donnerstag, 4. Juni, bis Sonntag, 7. Juni 2026. Veranstaltungsort ist der Festplatz in Garßen.

Schützenfest with a Long Tradition

The Schützenverein Garßen e.V. from 1891 hosts one of the most important Schützenfeste in the districts of Celle every year. Garßen is located on the eastern outskirts of Celle and administratively belongs to the city – but as a village district, it maintains a strong identity of its own, which becomes particularly visible during the Schützenfest.

Four Days of Festival Week

The festival lasts from Thursday to Sunday and combines the classic program points of a North German Schützenfest:

  • Parade with the Fanfarenkorps Herzogstadt Celle, the Garßener Spielmannszug and the Hambührener Spielmannszug
  • King's Shoot and King's Proclamation
  • Festival tent with catering, live music and dancing
  • Morning pint on Sunday morning
  • Children's festival on Saturday from 4:30 PM with its own games and children's king shoot
  • Accompanying small amusement rides and snacks

Community in the District

The Schützenfest is a flagship for Garßen's club life. Generations celebrate together, many families have been active in the club for decades. Anyone who wants to experience real "village life" in the Celle region as an outsider is welcome here.
