From Wine Festival to Rock Festival

The Sommer-Rock-Festival Roetgen is a fresh festival concept, first launched in 2025 by the Kulturkreis der Gemeinde Roetgen e.V. following the success of the wine festival held in the same space. The event returns to Wervicq-Platz behind the Roetgen town hall, an ideal setting for open-air gatherings.

Classic Rock Covers

The musical concept is straightforward: cover bands paying tribute to the legends of rock history. The 2026 lineup includes: The Xperience (Classic Rock Tribute), GROENLAND (Herbert Grönemeyer Tribute), MARIUZZ (Westernhagen Tribute), The Quarrymen Beatles, CockerInspiration (Joe Cocker Tribute), and a surprise act. The festival aims to appeal to rock fans of all generations.

Donations and Solidarity

A unique feature of the festival: admission is free, though donations are encouraged and go directly to Fightback against Poverty, an initiative fighting against poverty. The festival combines a great atmosphere with a clear social mission. Families, teenagers, children, and seniors are all warmly welcome.

Culinary Offerings

Just like at the wine festival, the Sommer-Rock-Festival features various stalls run by local clubs, offering a selection of food and drinks on-site.

Roetgen at the Gateway to the Eifel

Roetgen is the southernmost municipality in North Rhine-Westphalia, located right at the entrance to the Northern Eifel. With Wervicq-Platz as a central venue and a vibrant local community, the town has become a small but lively festival destination. The Sommer-Rock-Festival complements the wine festival as the second major open-air highlight of the year; in 2026, the two events will take place back-to-back.
