White Summer Festival on the Sillenbucher Meile — Stuttgart District Festival with Dress Code, Open Sunday Shopping, and White-Dressed Tables
"Sillenbuch in Weiß" is one of Stuttgart's most unusual district festivals and a hallmark of the Sillenbuch district. The venue is the Sillenbucher Meile — the central shopping street, Kirchheimer Straße, which runs through the district. On this day, the mile transforms into a single, white-dressed banquet table: tables, chairs, umbrellas, table decorations — all in white. Visitors follow the informal dress code and also come dressed in white. The visual result is impressive and makes the festival a magnet for the entire Stuttgart region.
The organizer is the Aktionsgemeinschaft Sillenbucher Meile e.V. — the business association of the merchants along Kirchheimer Straße. The festival is part of a conscious district strategy: Open Sunday shopping from 12 PM to 5 PM revitalizes local shops, culinary "oases" along the mile (restaurants, cafés, street food stalls) complement the offerings, and art and culture (visual artists, musicians, performers) fill the spaces between the gastronomic points. The result is a mix of a shopping mile, open-air restaurant, gallery, and family festival — an atmosphere that distills the typical Sillenbuch way of life for a few hours.
The Sillenbuch district is one of Stuttgart's eastern outskirts, located on the Filder plain, at the transition to the Welzheimer Wald. With Sillenbuch, Riedenberg, and Heumaden, the district comprises three neighborhoods with a total of around 24,000 inhabitants. The quality of life is high — lots of green space, good public transport connections (subway line U7), a strong club life, and a well-established shopping street along Kirchheimer Straße. "Sillenbuch in Weiß" stages this quality of life: stylish, communal, in contrast to Stuttgart's city center. Those who want to see the atmosphere should come on June 21, 2026 — dressed in white, of course.
The 2026 edition continues the proven concept of the shopping mile staged entirely in white. Tables, chairs, and umbrellas along Kirchheimer Straße will be white, Sillenbuch shops will open for Sunday shopping, and local restaurateurs will serve at "culinary oases." Simultaneously, artists and musicians from the district will present their work. The exact 2026 program will be announced shortly before the date on sillenbucher-meile.de — however, the format has established itself over the years and will essentially run identically.
Free admission. Food and drinks at the stalls of Sillenbuch restaurateurs. Shops during open Sunday shopping with their own pricing.
By subway lines U7 or U8 (stop Sillenbuch or Schemppstraße) — the district is directly accessible from Stuttgart city center. By car via the B 27 (Stuttgart–Tübingen), exit Stuttgart-Sillenbuch.
Sunday, June 21, 2026, presumably from noon (previous years: festival mile begins at 12 PM). Open Sunday shopping 12:00 PM–5:00 PM.
Free admission. Informal dress code: in white. Food and drinks are paid for at the Sillenbuch restaurants and street food stalls.
