Summer Festival on the Müritz

The Seefest Röbel/Müritz is the traditional town and harbour festival of the town of Röbel in the Mecklenburg Lake District of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It takes place every summer in July and transforms the town on the southwest bank of the Müritz into a large festival mile with a programme for the whole family for three days.

Four Stages and Historical Camp

The festival is spread across several venues. Live music is offered on the market square, Mühlenberg, Kirchplatz, and in the festival tent at the harbour – the Kirchplatz hosts the popular Irish stage. Behind the town wall in Predigerstrasse, the Morizaner-Sippe sets up its historical camp and showcases medieval life with demonstrations and a programme.

Neptune Opens the Festival

The Seefest is traditionally opened on the market square: The mayor, together with Neptune and his entourage, welcomes the guests. A festival parade then leads to the harbour, where it continues with a baptism ceremony and children's programme. The funfair and traders' mile complete the maritime Volksfest (folk festival).

Fireworks Display Over the Lake

The highlight of the Seefest is the grand fireworks display, which is set off over the Müritz on Saturday evening and bathes the night lake in colour. The spectacle can be watched from the shore and from boats. The fireworks form the glittering conclusion to the second day of the festival.

Getting There

Röbel/Müritz is accessible via the A19 (Röbel exit) and the B198. The town harbour, market square, and old town are centrally located. Admission to the Seefest is free.
