Three Piers, One Midnight Spectacle
The Seebrücken-Silvesterfeuerwerk (pier New Year's Eve fireworks) of the Kaiserbäder is one of the most beautiful and collective New Year's Eve events in Northern Germany. At midnight, pyrotechnicians on the three historic piers — the 508-meter-long Heringsdorf Pier (Germany's longest), the traditional Ahlbeck Pier (Germany's oldest seaside structure), and the charming Bansin Pier — simultaneously launch a synchronized aerial fireworks display that bathes the sky over the Baltic Sea in all colors.
Viewable from All Directions
The special feature: The three piers are so close to each other (about 2–3 kilometers as the crow flies) that all three fireworks are visible simultaneously from many locations on the beach and promenade. Thousands of beach strollers and hotel guests accompany the spectacle with glasses of sparkling wine and sparklers. The light effects reflect on the water's surface, intensifying the experience.
Heated Marquees and Dance Parties
In the hours before and after midnight, heated marquees on the beach and promenade dominate the scene. DJs and live bands provide dance music, while mulled wine and champagne stands warm the guests. Hotels along the promenade — from the historic Kaiserhof to modern beach hotels — offer New Year's Eve galas with multi-course menus and live music. This combination of a public beach celebration and exclusive hotel parties makes New Year's Eve on Usedom attractive to different tastes.
Family Fireworks in the Late Afternoon
Those celebrating with small children have their own solution: On New Year's Eve at 5:00 PM, a family fireworks display will be launched on the event plaza at Heringsdorf Pier — adjacent to the Magical Winter World by the Sea. This offers a full pyrotechnic experience long before midnight, making it child-friendly.
Tradition and Island Sparkle
The Seebrücken-Silvesterfeuerwerk has been a reliable format for years and is part of the comprehensive Inselglitzern (Island Sparkle), which transforms the entire island of Usedom into a sea of lights from late November to mid-January. The Kaiserbäder Tourismus Service GmbH coordinates the event with professional pyrotechnicians and the hoteliers of the three resorts. The format exemplifies the collective festival culture of the Vorpommern-Greifswald district.
