Royal shooting and bird shooting of the Seeth Shooting Club of 1967
The Seeth Shooting Club of 1967 e.V. is one of the oldest and most active clubs in the North Frisian village of Seeth – founded in 1967, it has been an integral part of village life for over five decades. The annual Schützenfest is the most important event in the club year, bringing together members of all age groups for a joint competition for the royal title.
The highlight of the festival day is the bird shooting: The aim is at wooden birds that must be shot down from the pole one by one. Whoever takes the final decisive shot becomes the shooting queen or king of the year. In addition, there are other competitions for ladies, youths, and guest shooters. The proclamation of the new royals and the coronation then take place in a festive setting at the shooting range.
Beyond the actual shooting, the Schützenfest is above all a village festival: Residents come together, the board provides catering at the barbecue, and during the day, the old shooters mingle with the younger female shooters. The club explicitly sees its shooting tradition as a mix of "technical enthusiasm, camaraderie, and discipline" – values that are visibly cultivated with the annual Schützenfest.
Seeth is located in the south of North Frisia – about six kilometers from Friedrichstadt – and belongs to the Nordsee-Treene administrative district. The small village has a lively club scene with a volunteer fire brigade, sports club, shooting club, jousting club, and theater group. The Schützenfest, along with the Maypole festival and jousting, is one of the most important festival days in the village calendar.
The Seeth Shooting Club of 1967 invites you to the traditional Schützenfest at the shooting range on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 10:00 AM. As every year, the bird shooting and the coronation of the new royals are the focus of the day.
Club members compete against each other, and there are also competitions for ladies, youths, and friendly guest clubs. Afterwards, the celebration continues together – the club provides catering at the barbecue and drinks. The Schützenfest has been a fixed part of the village's annual rhythm for decades and is organized by the Seeth Shooting Club, founded in 1967, which has been dedicated to preserving the shooting tradition for over 50 years.
