Bavarian festival tent for 2,000 guests with Schlager stars in the heart of Karlsruhe
Since its first edition in 2013, the Karlsruhe Oktoberfest has become the largest Wiesn event in Baden's fan city. The venue is the Messplatz on Durlacher Allee in the Oststadt district of Karlsruhe. In the large, heated festival tent with space for around 2,000 guests, Bavarian tradition and Baden joie de vivre merge for six festival evenings full of music, beer, and culinary highlights.
The 12th edition in 2026 boasts an exceptionally strong lineup of stars. Confirmed acts include:
The tent opens daily from 5:30 PM, with live bands playing from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Last orders are at 11:30 PM, and the tent closes around midnight.
The festival kitchen serves classic Wiesn dishes: grilled pork knuckles, crispy roast chicken, pork roast with dumplings, Käsespätzle, and sweet Kaiserschmarrn. Only Paulaner (the Munich Oktoberfest beer) and Karlsruhe's own Hoepfner beer are served – a symbiosis of Bavarian Wiesn tradition and Baden brewery art. Payment in the tent is strictly cash only.
The Messplatz in the Oststadt has always been a central venue for Karlsruhe's folk festivals. With the Spring Fair, the Summer Festival, and the Oktoberfest, the most important major events in the region take place here annually. Over the past eleven editions, the Oktoberfest has firmly established itself in the calendar of Karlsruhe residents – for many, a visit to the Wiesn is a must-do event.
From September 26th to October 10th, 2026, the Karlsruhe Messplatz will once again transform into the largest Wiesn in Baden for six festival days. The heated festival tent accommodates around 2,000 guests and opens daily from 5:30 PM, with live bands playing from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Three table categories – Schwemme (10-person tables), Box (8-person tables with delicacies), and individual seats – offer the right setting for every group size. Paulaner and Hoepfner are on tap, and the festival kitchen serves pork knuckles, roast chicken, pork roast, and Kaiserschmarrn.
