Wiesn Atmosphere in the Fan City

In the large, heated festival tent with space for around 2,000 guests, Bavarian tradition and Baden joie de vivre merge for six festival evenings full of music, beer, and culinary highlights.

Culinary Delights: Purely Bavarian
The festival kitchen serves classic Wiesn dishes: grilled pork knuckles, crispy roast chicken, pork roast with dumplings, Käsespätzle, and sweet Kaiserschmarrn. Only Paulaner (the Munich Oktoberfest beer) and Karlsruhe's own Hoepfner beer are served – a symbiosis of Bavarian Wiesn tradition and Baden brewery art. Payment in the tent is strictly cash only.
Embedded in Karlsruhe's Festival Culture
The Messplatz in the Oststadt has always been a central venue for Karlsruhe's folk festivals. With the Spring Fair, the Summer Festival, and the Oktoberfest, the most important major events in the region take place here annually. Over the past eleven editions, the Oktoberfest has firmly established itself in the calendar of Karlsruhe residents – for many, a visit to the Wiesn is a must-do event.
