Bavarian festival night in the Emslandhallen — pretzels, beer, traditions, and party atmosphere on October 10, 2026
Munich's Oktoberfest has become a global synonym for Bavarian festival culture — and the wave of Oktoberfests across Germany shows how popular the format is outside of Bavaria. In the Emsland, a region with its own distinct festival culture, the Oktoberfest in the Emslandhallen Lingen offers an annual opportunity to immerse oneself in the special flair of the Wiesn without having to travel to Munich.
The Emslandhallen Lingen is an established event center that, with its size and flexibility, is ideally suited for the Oktoberfest format. With beer benches in long rows, festival table decorations in Bavarian colors, steins of beer, and a dance floor, the hall offers everything needed for a successful Oktoberfest night. Admission is from 5 PM, with the official festival start at 6 PM with the tapping of the first kegs and the traditional cry “O'zapft is!” to kick off the festival night.
The musical program is provided by a live band that combines Bavarian festival music with popular hits and party songs — from “Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit” to “Anton aus Tirol” and classic Wiesn hits. The beer is served in steins, and the culinary offerings range from pretzels and Obatzda to roast chicken and pork knuckle, as well as desserts like candied almonds and gingerbread hearts. Guests are invited to come in traditional costume, which further enhances the authentic atmosphere.
Over the years, the Oktoberfest Lingen has become a popular meeting point for friends, clubs, companies, and family celebrations. Table reservations for groups are possible through the Emslandhallen. The festival attracts a mixed audience from the entire Emsland, the Grafschaft Bentheim, and the neighboring Dutch municipalities.
With admission from 5 PM and festival start at 6 PM, the Emslandhallen transform into a Bavarian festival tent. Beer benches, festival table decorations, a dance floor, and a stage are set up for a lively festival night.
