Schützenverein Diestedde — Club Life in Wadersloh
The Schützenverein Diestedde is one of the oldest and most active clubs in the Diestedde district of the municipality of Wadersloh. As in many villages in the Münsterland region, the Schützenwesen (marksmen's tradition) forms the backbone of social life — the marksmen's mass, parades, king couples, and club evenings structure the year. The venue is located at Lange Straße 35 in Diestedde.
Pentecost Weekend May 23–25, 2026 — Three Festival Days
Pentecost weekend 2026 falls on May 23rd to 25th and is traditionally the date for the main festival of the Schützenverein Diestedde:
- Saturday, May 23rd — Festival opening with tapping of the keg, marksmen's mass, festival evening with live band
- Sunday, May 24th — Festival service, morning pint, parade of all companies with the royal couples of friendly clubs and music bands, coronation ball
- Monday, May 25th (Pentecost Monday) — Morning pint, parade, coronation highlight, festival finale
Aftermath — Clean-up Day and Biergericht
As befits active club life, the program doesn't end on Pentecost Monday:
- May 26th, 2026 — Clean-up day with club members
- June 3rd, 2026 — Biergericht: traditional beer tasting ceremony
Diestedde and Wadersloh in the Warendorf District
Wadersloh is a municipality in the Warendorf district (southern Münsterland) with approximately 13,000 inhabitants, consisting of the three main districts Wadersloh, Diestedde, and Liesborn. Each district has its own Schützenverein and its own festival calendar. Diestedde, with about 3,300 inhabitants, is the second-largest district — and the Schützenfest on Pentecost weekend is one of the most important club events of the year.
