For three August weekends, Lippstadt Open Air transforms the Rathausplatz in the Westphalian city into an open-air stage. From August 7 to 22, 2026, there will be six concert evenings (Fridays and Saturdays) featuring a total of ten bands on two stages — from singer-songwriter and indie to folk, punk, and Latin sounds. Free admission, plus a Pop-Up Record Store, a Charity flea market for UNICEF on August 15, and a Silent Disco with three channels and six DJs to conclude on August 22. Organized by Kultur in Lippstadt e.V., the festival is a regular fixture in the event calendar of the Soest district.

Kultur in Lippstadt e.V. presents a diverse lineup of singer-songwriter, indie, folk, punk, and Latin sounds. Getting There

Lippstadt station with RE6, RE11, and RB89 from Soest, Hamm, Paderborn, and Dortmund. A 10-minute walk from the station to Rathausplatz. By car via the B55, A2, or A44, follow signs for the city center. Parking garages around the old town.

Concert evenings every Friday/Saturday from 7:15 PM (Opening Friday, August 7th from 7:00 PM). Pop-Up Record Store Fri. 5:00 PM–10:00 PM, Sat. 3:00 PM–10:00 PM.

Admission

Three Weekends of Live Music in the Heart of the City

Lippstadt Open Air is the cultural highlight of the Lippstadt summer: Three weekends, six concert evenings, ten bands, all on the central Rathausplatz. The organizer is Kultur in Lippstadt e.V., which conceived the festival as a "free and outdoors" format, offering an accessible open-air stage for regional and national acts.

Six Evenings, Two Stages, Ten Bands

The concerts take place over three weekends in August (7th/8th, 14th/15th, 21st/22nd), each Friday and Saturday starting at 7:15 PM — with a special opening act at 7:00 PM on the opening Friday, August 7th. Bands alternate on two stages along the Rathausplatz, keeping breaks short and the atmosphere consistent.

Accompanying Program: Pop-Up Record Store, Charity Flea Market, Silent Disco

The festival is more than just live music: A Pop-Up Record Store is open Fridays 5:00 PM–10:00 PM and Saturdays 3:00 PM–10:00 PM, offering vinyl, CDs, and festival merchandise. On August 15th, a charity flea market for UNICEF will be held. To conclude the festival on August 22nd, Deniz & Ove will perform, an "indie band for children and parents," followed by a Silent Disco with three channels and six DJs.
