Over 300 Years of the Marksmen's Guild
The Hohne Marksmen's Guild of 1708 is one of the oldest marksmen's associations in the Celle district. With over three centuries of club history, it is one of the most traditional marksmen's corporations in Lower Saxony. The municipality of Hohne is located in the eastern Celle district and, despite its manageable size, is a vibrant village with active club life.
Three Days of Festivities
The Schützenfest traditionally runs from Saturday to Monday and combines the classic program points of a North German Schützenfest:
- Parade through the village with marksmen, marching band, and fanfare band
- King's shooting and proclamation of the king
- Large festival tent with catering and dancing
- Children's Schützenfest with its own competitions
- Frühschoppen on Sunday
- Grand Zapfenstreich (final ceremony) to conclude
- Accompanying small amusement rides and food stalls
Together with Sülze and Garßen
The Hohne Schützenfest takes place on the first weekend of June – coordinated with the Schützenfeste in the neighboring towns of Sülze and Garßen. This creates a joint marksmen's weekend in this corner of the Celle district, which is a fixed date in the calendar for many families.
