The SCHAU! – Great Berlin Photo Fair is one of the most important industry events for photography and videography in German-speaking countries. Initiated by Foto Meyer, one of the oldest specialist photo retailers in Berlin, the format has established itself as a two-day meeting point for brands, professionals, hobbyists, and creative newcomers.

Lette-Verein as the venue

The SCHAU! takes place in the premises of the Lette-Verein at Viktoria-Luise-Platz 6 in Berlin's Schöneberg district. Founded in 1866, the Lette-Verein is one of Berlin's most traditional educational institutions with a focus on photography, graphics, and media design – a more fitting venue for a photo fair is hard to imagine. The event is spread across the courtyards and halls of the building, allowing for an intimate and dense fair atmosphere.

What you'll experience

The program is divided into two strands:

• Brand exhibition: over 50 brands with current cameras, lenses, tripods, lighting, filters – everything to touch and test
• Lectures and workshops on fashion, flash, video, and portrait photography
• Photo walks through the Berlin cityscape
• Portfolio reviews with professional photographers
• Free camera cleaning for digital and SLR cameras (by Foto Meyer Service)
• Second-hand area with used equipment offers

Workshops and trainers

Regularly participating photographers and trainers include Stephie Braun, Sophie Brand, Patrick Lipke, and many others. Workshops are usually free of charge; some special formats (professional portfolio reviews) require registration.

Brands represented

Over 50 brands exhibit, including Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Leica, DJI, Panasonic, Zeiss, Olympus/OM System, as well as accessory manufacturers like Lowepro, Crumpler, and many more. This makes the fair one of the few German venues where you can experience almost the entire current product range of the industry in one weekend.
