Two-day neighborhood festival in Alt-Rudow with three stages and over 100 stalls
Rudow is the southernmost district of Neukölln, directly bordering Brandenburg. Connected to Berlin via the U7 subway's end station Rudow, the district retains a rural-suburban character that clearly distinguishes it from the densely built-up northern parts of the district in Kreuzberg. The Rudower Septembermeile is the largest neighborhood festival in the area – an event that takes place every year in early September, marking the end of summer.
The festival grounds stretch along Alt-Rudow and Krokusstraße, featuring three distributed stages for different music genres and a corridor of over 100 stalls. Food, crafts, information from local clubs, and small businesses from the neighborhood – the stall offerings mix Volksfest (people's festival) classics (crêpes, bratwurst, ice cream) with a local profile (clubs, schools, small craftspeople from Rudow and the surrounding area).
The Septembermeile is designed as a large activity park for families: face painting, bouncy castle, giant slide, bungee trampoline, and several small children's carousels are spread across the entire festival mile. Unlike some urban neighborhood festivals that are culturally or educationally focused, the Septembermeile clearly emphasizes physical activity – fitting the still summery September weather and the district's character.
Admission is free; arriving by public transport is strongly recommended – the festival area is in a densely populated residential neighborhood, and parking is scarce. Getting there is easy with the U7 subway to Rudow: it's a ten-minute walk from Rudow station to the festival grounds on Alt-Rudow. The organizer is Hauptstadt Kultur / Jüttner Entertainment, the same organizer responsible for the Street Food Festival Rudow and similar events in Berlin and Brandenburg.
The festival follows the established format of previous years: two days, three parallel stages, a festival mile along Alt-Rudow. Daily schedule on Saturday from 12 PM to 10 PM, and on Sunday from 11 AM to 8 PM – the Sunday closing at 8 PM considers that many families need to head home afterwards.
The complete stage program for 2026 (bands and artists per stage and time slot) will be published by the organizer in late summer on hauptstadtkultur.berlin as a PDF. Based on experience, the musical style includes German Schlager, rock cover bands, local singer-songwriters, and occasional cover hits from the 80s to today – nothing experimental, but broadly family-friendly.
The complete stage program with band names, stage assignments, and time slots will be published in late summer 2026 on hauptstadtkultur.berlin as a PDF. Those planning their visit should consult the festival website or the organizer's social media channels about a week beforehand.
Subway line U7 to the final stop Rudow, then a ten-minute walk via Neuköllner Straße to the festival grounds on Alt-Rudow. Bus lines 171, 271, 371 to Rudow. Limited car access – the neighborhood is crowded on festival days.
Free admission to all stages and the festival mile. Bouncy castle, giant slide, bungee trampoline, and children's carousels are paid for individually on-site. Food and drinks are available at the stalls.
With children: Sunday during the day, when the family program is most lively. For live music and stalls: Saturday afternoon and evening; the main stage program typically runs between 2 PM and 10 PM.
