Street festival with two stages, arts and crafts, and street food in the Rudow district
The Rudower Frühlingsmeile is one of the traditional street festivals in southern Berlin. It takes place once in spring in the Rudow district (Neukölln borough) — along Alt-Rudow, the historic village street that forms the center of the old Rudow village core. Over a weekend, stages, market stalls, and rides are set up here, creating a festival mile that is actively used by families from Rudow, Buckow, and the surrounding neighborhoods.
The Frühlingsmeile features two stages and thus a dense live program: cover bands, local musicians, dance groups, school choirs. The program is deliberately family-oriented, ranging from Schlager and German pop to rock cover bands. The second stage typically hosts children's programs — musical excerpts, acrobatics, children's disco.
Market stalls line the mile: arts and crafts (jewelry, ceramics, textiles, woodwork), antiques, bric-a-brac — and a wide range of street food. The latter reflects Neukölln's multicultural profile: Indian specialties, pulled pork, homemade potato pancakes (Reibekuchen), German pan dishes, Hungarian Lángos, as well as classics like Bratwurst, crêpes, and Currywurst. There are also stalls selling beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks.
A dedicated children's area is at the heart of the Frühlingsmeile: bouncy castles, a bungee trampoline, carousels, a slide, and duck fishing are part of the regular program. Admission to the mile is free; individual rides are paid for separately. The family-friendly atmosphere is clearly its hallmark — the Frühlingsmeile is one of the few larger Berlin district festivals that actively targets children as its main audience.
Rudow is the southernmost district of Neukölln, right on the border with Brandenburg. While North Neukölln (Reuterkiez, Schillerkiez) represents the urban, often gentrified face of the district, Rudow is predominantly a residential area with single-family homes, apartment buildings, and a preserved village core around Alt-Rudow and the Rudow village church. The Frühlingsmeile is one of the most important identity markers of the year here — and complements the Rudower Septembermeile and the Rudower Weihnachtsmeile to form a regular seasonal cycle.
The 2026 Frühlingsmeile will be set up on Saturday, May 9 (12:00 PM–10:00 PM) and Sunday, May 10 (11:00 AM–8:00 PM) along Alt-Rudow in the Rudow district (Neukölln borough). Address: Alt-Rudow 26, 12357 Berlin.
Two stages provide the live program — cover bands, local musicians, and children's entertainment. Stalls with arts and crafts and antiques, as well as street food stations with international selections, line the mile. Admission to the mile is free; individual attractions in the children's area are paid for separately.
