The Romantic Christmas Market at Bauschhof is one of the special Advent markets in the Rhineland. On the weekend of the 2nd Advent — December 5th and 6th, 2026 — the historic Bauschhof in Düren-Berzbuir transforms into an Advent market with a medieval flair. The Stanna family, who run the estate, opens the farm's utility buildings and sets up individual wooden huts, approximately 2.5 × 3 meters, in the courtyard — a mix of covered stalls in old barns and freestanding market booths.

Highlight — International Christmas Tree Throwing Championship

An unusual tradition that sets the market apart from many others: the International Christmas Tree Throwing Championship on Saturday. Participants hurl real Christmas trees as far as possible. The format is half sporting, half carnivalesque — and attracts onlookers from the entire region.

Grand Fireworks Saturday Evening
