About Rolling Stone Beach

The Rolling Stone Beach Festival is the exclusive indoor rock festival held at the Weissenhäuser Strand holiday and leisure park in Schashagen (Ostholstein district). Around two dozen bands from the indie, alternative, rock, and singer-songwriter genres will perform on November 13-14, 2026, in the covered halls directly on the Baltic Sea coast. Curated by Rolling Stone Magazine, the festival combines a compact two-day format with hotel package options and has been considered one of Northern Germany's most distinguished boutique festivals since 2009. The 17th edition in 2026 will bring Mogwai, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Jon Spencer, Bob Mould, and Die Sterne, among others, to Schleswig-Holstein.

The Rolling Stone Festival on the Baltic Sea

Since 2009, the Rolling Stone Beach Festival has been held every November at the Weissenhäuser Strand holiday park on the Baltic Sea coast — an unusual location for one of Germany's most ambitious indie rock festivals. The municipality of Schashagen in the Ostholstein district (state of Schleswig-Holstein) is part of the Lübeck Bay and hosts the Weissenhäuser Strand, a large holiday park that transforms into a festival backdrop for two days.

Concept: Indoor, Compact, High-Caliber

Unlike most rock festivals, the Rolling Stone Beach takes place indoors: Concerts run parallel or staggered in several halls and venues of the resort, allowing fans to experience around 25 artists over the weekend. The setting — Baltic Sea beach, dunes, nearby beech forest — complements the festival atmosphere with a short break between sets. Guests can book a hotel package and stay at the holiday park, or arrive with a festival-only pass.

Curated by Rolling Stone Magazine

The name says it all: The renowned music magazine Rolling Stone has been selecting the lineup together with promoter FKP Scorpio for years. The programming emphasizes indie, alternative, singer-songwriter, classic rock, and newcomers — no pop acts, no headliner logic like at major summer festivals. Bands like Bob Mould, Mogwai, The Notwist, Element of Crime, or The Walkabouts have been part of the festival's DNA in recent years.

17th Edition in 2026

The 17th edition on November 13 and 14, 2026, confirms this direction. The main stages will feature Mogwai, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Jon Spencer & Band, Bob Mould Band, Die Sterne, and We Are Scientists, among others. They will be joined by singer-songwriters, newcomers, and international acts from Great Britain, the USA, and Scandinavia.

Rolling Stone Beach — edition 2026

The 17th edition of the Rolling Stone Beach Festival will take place on November 13 and 14, 2026, at the Weissenhäuser Strand holiday park. The stages will feature Mogwai, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Jon Spencer, Bob Mould, We Are Scientists, Die Sterne, and Joan as Police Woman, among others — curated by Rolling Stone Magazine.

With its 17th edition, the Rolling Stone Beach Festival 2026 confirms its position as one of Germany's most curated boutique festivals. From Friday, November 13, to Saturday, November 14, 2026, the Weissenhäuser Strand holiday park will open its halls for around 25 concerts spanning indie, alternative, rock, and singer-songwriter genres.

For 2026, the headliners announced include Scottish post-rockers Mogwai, Californian garage rockers Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, New York live-wire Jon Spencer, Hüsker Dü legend Bob Mould, and the Hamburger Schule representatives Die Sterne. They will be joined by acts such as We Are Scientists, Joan as Police Woman, Billy Nomates, Friska Viljor, Jade Bird, MRCY, Roo Panes, and many newcomers from German-speaking countries.
