Patron Saint's Festival in Honour of Saint Rochus
The Rochusfest combines ecclesiastical customs with village conviviality. The focus is on the veneration of Saint Rochus, who is traditionally invoked as the patron saint against the plague and as a protector. The festival is one of the fixed dates in the annual calendar of the Apfeldorf parish community.
Festival at the Church and Rectory Garden
The celebration takes place at the parish church and in the adjacent rectory garden. After the festive church service in the morning, the parish community, together with the Apfeldorf traditional costume band, invites guests to a cosy get-together with brass music, food, and drinks. The festival begins in the morning and attracts worshippers as well as guests from the surrounding area.

Supported by the parish and the traditional costume band, the Rochusfest is an expression of the vibrant village community in Apfeldorf and a beautiful example of the connection between church, music, and tradition in Upper Bavaria's Pfaffenwinkel region.
Rochusfest — edition 2026
On Sunday, August 16, 2026, the Apfeldorf parish community will celebrate its Rochusfest. It begins at 10:15 AM with a festive church service. Afterwards, the Apfeldorf Traditional Costume Band e.V. will provide entertainment with brass music, while food and drinks will be available in the rectory garden. The festival is held in honour of Saint Rochus, the parish patron.
