Seven carnival clubs storm the Dudweiler community center during Faasend week
The Dudweiler Rathaussturm is one of the most traditional Faasend events in the Regionalverband Saarbrücken. The venue is the Bürgerhaus Dudweiler, and the festival is organized by the Festausschuss Dudweiler Faasenacht e. V. — an association of the seven carnival clubs of the Dudweiler district of Saarbrücken.
Seven active Faasend clubs come together:
Each club presents its own stage program — dance troupes, show dances, satirical speeches (Bütt-Reden), sketches. The result is a very long, but varied hour-long party in the community center hall.
The Bürgerhaus Dudweiler is a modern event hall in the Dudweiler district of Saarbrücken — accessible, with parking, ample catering, and a large main stage. An ideal hall for the multi-hour event, offering space for movement, good visibility, and excellent acoustics.
Important to know: In Saarland, Carnival is called Faasend. The tradition is distinct, closer to the Palatinate Fastnacht than to the Rhenish Carnival of Cologne. Dudweiler has a particularly active Faasend scene with the oldest parade in the Saarbrücken districts.
Anyone who wants to experience Saarland Faasend in its purest form, without tourist crowds and without paying an entrance fee, is in the right place. Families are just as welcome as party-goers. Costumes are welcome, but not mandatory.
The Dudweiler Faasend Committee has announced a three-part program for 2026. The main event is the Rathaussturm on Friday, February 13, at 7:11 PM in the Dudweiler Bürgerhaus. Free admission to all events.
All events are free of charge. Accessible entrance to the Bürgerhaus. Catering available for purchase.
Take the Saarbahn Line 1 from Saarbrücken Main Station to Dudweiler Mitte, then a few minutes' walk to the Bürgerhaus. By car, take the A623 (Saarbrücken–St. Wendel), exit Dudweiler. Parking is available at the Bürgerhaus.
Admission is completely free. Accessible entrance. Catering provided by the Bürgerhaus (snacks and drinks).
Seats are not reserved. If you want a good spot in the hall, arrive 30–45 minutes before the start (7:11 PM). After-party in the DCC disco and Pfaffenkopf club cellar, both a few minutes' walk away.
