The Pocking Bürgerfest is one of the largest and most popular city festivals in Lower Bavaria. For three days, the town center of the small district town of Pocking in the Passau district transforms into a lively festival area with four stages in the city center, regional bands, street artists, dance groups, and a huge beer garden in the Stadtpark – with over 10,000 seats, one of the largest in Lower Bavaria. Clubs, shops, and private initiatives jointly design the program and catering; admission and parking are free. In 2026, the Bürgerfest will move to a new, expanded location for the first time.

The Pocking Bürgerfest 2026 runs from Friday, July 17 to Sunday, July 19. Four stages in the city center, the huge beer garden in the Stadtpark with over 10,000 seats, regional bands, street artists, and dance groups provide three days of city life. For the first time in 2026, it will be held at a new, expanded location. Admission and parking are free.

From July 17 to 19, 2026, the town center of Pocking will transform into the Lower Bavarian festival hotspot. Four stages will cover the city center, and Lower Bavaria's largest beer garden with over 10,000 seats will be set up in the Stadtpark. For the first time, the festival will take place at a new, expanded location, offering more space for stages, stalls, and visitors.

As every year, clubs, business people, and private individuals will jointly design the program and catering. Lower Bavarian specialties, international cuisine, cold beer from regional breweries, and a dense live program make the Bürgerfest a must-attend event in the Passau region. Admission and parking are free.

Getting There

Pocking is located in the district of Passau, about 30 km west of Passau. By car via the A3 (Pocking exit) or B12. Free parking near the town center. By train to Passau Hauptbahnhof, then take a regional train or bus to Pocking.

Admission

Free admission to the entire festival grounds, free parking. Food and drinks are available directly at the stalls of the clubs and innkeepers at festival prices.

The Pocking Bürgerfest has been the highlight of the event calendar in the Lower Bavarian town of Pocking for over 20 years. Pocking is located in the district of Passau in the Passau region, nestled in the gentle hilly landscape between the Danube and Rottal-Inn. With around 16,000 inhabitants, Pocking is a manageable town – yet the Bürgerfest, held every July, attracts tens of thousands of visitors annually from all over Lower Bavaria and neighboring Upper Austria.

Four stages are spread across the city center, in the pedestrian zone, on the main square, in the Stadtpark, and in front of the town hall. The stages feature a rotation of regional bands (cover bands, folk music, brass, rock), street artists, dance groups, and solo artists. The musical spectrum ranges from traditional Lower Bavarian brass music and Bavarian singer-songwriters to pop, rock, and DJ sets, which also make the Bürgerfest a lively party night for the younger generation.
