Double Anniversary in the Rhön

In 2026, the Oberleichtersbach Volunteer Fire Brigade is celebrating an outstanding anniversary: 125 years of FFW Oberleichtersbach and 100 years of the Soldiers' and Comradeship Association. Oberleichtersbach is a municipality in the state of Bavaria, in the district of Bad Kissingen in Lower Franconia, on the edge of the Rhön near Bad Brückenau.

In the summer, a nostalgia evening will recall the history of the brigade. The grand festival weekend at the beginning of September marks the culmination.

The multi-day festival weekend around the first Sunday in September traditionally includes the opening of the festival tent with a beer tapping ceremony, party evenings with live music, a festival service, and a grand parade with friendly brigades, associations, and music bands from the region. A children's and family program rounds off the festivities.

For Oberleichtersbach and the Bad Kissingen district, the double anniversary in 2026 is a special event.
