Indoor festival of the dark scene on the wintry Baltic Sea coast
Since its inception, Plage Noire has relied on a unique festival concept in Germany: a concentrated indoor festival of the dark scene on the Baltic coast, in November, with accommodation included at the holiday park. While other Goth and Industrial festivals (Wave-Gotik-Treffen Leipzig, M'era Luna, Amphi) focus on size and open-air scale, Plage Noire takes the opposite approach — small, dense, atmospheric.
All concerts take place on three stages within the holiday park, connected by short distances and a central "gallery" that serves as a meeting point. No camping, no muddy walks on the beach — the approximately 3,000 visitors stay in apartments, bungalows, and hotel rooms directly on the premises. Many festival passes are available as combined tickets with accommodation.
Musically, the festival covers the entire spectrum of the dark scene: Gothic, EBM, Dark Wave, Goth'n'Roll, Dark Electro, Industrial, Medieval Rock. Confirmed for the 2026 edition are, among others, Eisbrecher, Project Pitchfork, Subway to Sally (Medieval Rock), Covenant, Die Krupps, Solar Fake, In Strict Confidence, Stahlmann, The Beauty of Gemina, Rotersand, Heldmaschine, Zeraphine, S.P.O.C.K, Noisuf-X, The Cassandra Complex, and [x]-RX. A total of more than 25 bands.
Plage Noire isn't just about concerts. The accompanying program includes fashion shows ranging from prêt-à-porter to haute gothic couture, make-up sessions, readings by well-known authors from the dark literature scene, workshops, and energetic warm-up and after-show parties with DJs from the international scene.
The venue is the Weissenhäuser Strand holiday park in the municipality of Schashagen on the western shore of Hohwacht Bay — Ostholstein district, state of Schleswig-Holstein. The resort is located directly on the Baltic Sea beach between Heiligenhafen and Oldenburg in Holstein. In November, the location is absurdly perfect: stormy seas, bare beech trees, a sandy landscape in dark mode — the scenery matches the music.
The 2026 edition continues the proven concept: two days of concentrated programming, three stages, fashion shows, readings, make-up sessions, and after-show parties. Around 3,000 visitors are expected — the capacity is deliberately kept small.
Stylistically, the broad spectrum of the dark scene is covered: Eisbrecher and Stahlmann as Neue Deutsche Härte headliners, Project Pitchfork and In Strict Confidence as Dark Electro classics, Subway to Sally and Heldmaschine in the Medieval Rock/NDH spectrum, Covenant, Die Krupps, and S.P.O.C.K. from the EBM/Industrial line, plus Goth Rock acts like The Beauty of Gemina and Zeraphine.
A total of more than 25 bands on 3 stages. The final lineup list will be updated in late summer 2026 on plagenoire.de.
By car: Take the A1 or A20 towards Lübeck, then the B501 towards Heiligenhafen, exit Weissenhäuser Strand. By train: Main station Lübeck or Oldenburg in Holstein, from there shuttle or taxi (approx. 25 minutes).
Festival passes and combined tickets with accommodation available via plagenoire.de and festivalhopper.de. Day tickets available, but multi-day and resort packages are recommended (atmosphere and aftershow in the park).
Directly at the Weissenhäuser Strand holiday park — apartments, bungalows, and hotel rooms, many as combined packages with festival pass. Camping is not part of the concept.
Bring warm clothing. Concerts are indoors, but the walk from the apartment to the hall leads through the wintry grounds — a brief shiver is part of the experience.
