Spa Concerts in the Heart of Holstein Switzerland

Bad Malente-Gremsmühlen is located in the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park, surrounded by Dieksee, Kellersee, and Behlersee lakes. As a state-recognized Kneipp and health spa resort, Malente has cultivated the classic German spa concert for generations – freely accessible music in the spa park, intended to contribute to the relaxation and health of spa guests. Today, the program appeals to spa guests as well as tourists, day-trippers from Kiel, Lübeck, and Hamburg, and the local population of Malente.

Six Months, Six Styles

The Summer Music program is intentionally diverse. Throughout the season from April to September, the following perform:

• Shanty Choirs from Schleswig-Holstein
• Marching Bands and Brass Bands
• Jazz Combos and Big Bands
• Folk Groups with North German and Celtic programs
• Classical Ensembles from the region
• Pop and Rock Bands from the Lübeck and Kiel areas
• Solo Artists with voice and guitar

Concerts usually start at 2:30 PM, last about 90 minutes, and take place on the concert stage in the spa park. Free admission – spa guests and day visitors can simply attend.

Bad Weather Alternative: Haus des Kurgastes

In case of rain, the concert is moved to the Haus des Kurgastes – the municipal tourist center right next to the spa park. This ensures no concert is canceled due to weather; the format remains reliable.

Holstein Switzerland as a Backdrop

Malente is located in the Ostholstein district, about 60 kilometers northeast of Lübeck and 40 kilometers southeast of Kiel. Holstein Switzerland is the lake-richest region in Schleswig-Holstein – with Dieksee at its center, the nearby Großer Plöner See, and a network of hiking trails. Visitors attending the spa concert can combine their day with a boat trip on the Holsteinische Schweiz Verkehrs-GmbH line or a bike tour through the hilly landscape.
