Three Days in Pinneberg City Center
For three days, the Pinneberg Festival takes over the central squares and streets of Pinneberg's city center — Dingstätte, the station forecourt, and Lindenstraße. Regional and national artists perform on several stages, complemented by food stalls, children's activities, and a market for local vendors. The organizers are Stadtmarketing Pinneberg and the event service provider jbe Events.
Mix of City Festival and Festival
The format deliberately positions itself between a classic city festival and an open-air festival: low-threshold free admission, broad musical spectrum (pop, rock, regional acts), family program during the day, concert evening later. With around 44,000 inhabitants, Pinneberg is the district town of the Pinneberg district in the western commuter belt of Hamburg — a catchment area that the festival serves well accordingly.
Sunday Opening Hours
A special feature is the Sunday opening hours on the last festival day: Pinneberg's shops open, strolling and festival visits combine into a day in the city center. For Pinneberg's retail trade, this date is an important sales day in late summer, and the festival contributes to the joint success.
Pinneberg as a Location
The town of Pinneberg is directly accessible from Hamburg Central Station via the S-Bahn line S3 in 25 minutes. This makes the festival attractive for visitors from Hamburg as well. With the Schäferhof, the Drostei Park, and the rose-filled town center, Pinneberg has historical anchor points that frame the festival spatially.
