Picknick in Weiß im Schlosspark Oranienburg
Elegant summer evening with a white banquet table in the palace park
2026
About Picknick in Weiß
Picknick in Weiß — edition 2026
The Picknick in Weiß 2026 takes place on July 1 from 6 PM to 10 PM in the Oranienburg Palace Park. The concept follows the Parisian tradition of "Dîner en Blanc": all guests in white, tables and decorations in white, food and drinks are self-catered.
In the center of the palace park, a long, continuous white banquet table is created. Table neighbors become a dining community – a rare form of conviviality in a baroque world heritage context.

Summer Evening in White
The Picknick in Weiß is an event format that originated in Paris in the 1980s ("Dîner en Blanc") and has since established itself in many cities worldwide. In Oranienburg, in the Oberhavel district, the format has held a firm place in the summer calendar for about ten years. Venue: the Oranienburg Palace Park with the baroque palace as its backdrop.
Concept
The rules are clear: All participants dress in white. White tables, white chairs, white tablecloths, white napkins, white floral decorations. Anyone who fancies a splash of color will be out of place – the consistency of the ensemble is what makes the evening appealing. Food and drinks are self-catered – each table group takes care of itself; there is no catering service.
A Long Banquet Table
The tables are arranged on the central lawn of the palace park to form a long, continuous banquet table. Table neighbors become a dining community – strangers share bread, wine, and stories. Occasionally, an accordion tinkles, sometimes someone sings. An atmosphere that oscillates between a wedding, a celebration, and a salon evening.
Oranienburg Palace as a Backdrop
Oranienburg Palace is the oldest baroque palace in the Mark Brandenburg, built in the mid-17th century for Louise Henriette of Orange (the wife of Frederick William, Elector of Brandenburg). Today, it houses the Palace Museum and, with its palace park, forms one of the finest summer stages in the Oberhavel district and the entire state of Brandenburg.
Brandenburg in White
In the state of Brandenburg, Picknick in Weiß is a comparatively young format – an invitation to an urban, stylish lifestyle audience. Its success in Oranienburg shows that there is an audience for such formats in the capital region as well. The combination of baroque scenery, shared staging, and brought-along conviviality is part of summer in the capital region.
