Spring in the Baroque Park
The Oranienburg Palace Park is Brandenburg's oldest baroque garden, originally laid out in the 17th century for Louise Henriette of Orange. Today it forms Oranienburg's largest garden and one of the most beautiful places for spring walks in the Oberhavel district. On Easter Sunday, the park transforms into a family day.
Program on Easter Sunday
On Sunday, April 5, 2026, the Easter program will be running. If you're lucky, you'll meet one or two Easter bunnies hopping through the park and handing out small gifts to young guests. At the play meadow, the Palace Park Witch Thymiana has set up shop – a recurring character in the Palace Park calendar (Easter festival, school enrollment festival, etc.). She crafts Easter decorations with children that they can take home.
Playground and Movement
The bouncy castle and climbing frame are ready – both permanent facilities in the Palace Park, especially popular on Easter Sunday. While parents sit on the meadows and watch the blooming spring flowerbeds, the children romp around the grounds.
Free Admission for First-Graders
A tradition of the Palace Park: First-graders get free admission on Easter Sunday. The school enrollment festival in summer is the second event specifically aimed at first-graders – both dates together mark important milestones in the region's children's calendar.
Oberhavel and Brandenburg
Oranienburg is the district town of the Oberhavel district, in the north of Brandenburg and directly north of Berlin. The Palace Park and the Palace form the cultural center of the city. The Easter festival is one of the fixed family dates in the region's spring calendar – with the S-Bahn connection to Berlin, it's also a popular day trip destination for Berliners.
